This blog is for all those people who may be interested in following the progress of three, highly motivated, yet financially poor film-makers as they embark on an epic journey to independently finance, film, market, and distribute their horror/comedy feature film "Hotel Caledonia". We need your support, so go tell your friends all about us, and help to make this small movie a British horror/comedy cult classic. We wish you well!

Director: Nicholas David Lean
Producer: Yaw Basoah
Screenwriters: Nicholas David Lean & Mark Sayles

It is a pity the film makers did not contact the highlands and Islands Film Commission who could have helped with locations and helped with logistics. More research was clearly required. The location brief does not appear to be a difficult one.

Plenty of research was done, especially in Scotland, but the decision of where to film, precisely, also came down to available capital resources, a substantial amount of which was offered by the Wales Film Commission given the director's Welsh origins. Hungary was being considered for budgetary and tax purposes. Limited funds were available from Scottish Screen and their affiliates. That said, however, some locations are being sourced, and will be used, in Dumfries & Galloway.
